Boy, sun rise is getting earlier and earlier now a days. How I know this?? Well, since I got home from the west on Tuesday morning, I have been awaken every day by the evil nesting Crows that caw for hours only a few feet from my window. They may as well be in my room they are so loud and annoying.
So the last few days I have taken pretty easy from training before I start getting ready for the world cups. Iv got caught up on summer shopping and today I dragged my mom and sister to the green house green house to pick out a tone of flowers for the garden. What was supposed to be a few minutes turned into a couple hours... so many to choose from :) The rest of the afternoon we spent planting.
Had chilly for dinner mmm... :)
and just finished colouring my moms hair ;)

...just about everything

Oh man, I feel awful for not having updated this thing for so long. A week way to long.
I have done so many fun and cool things and met so many great people.
On May 10th we flew to Edmonton, checked out the West Edmonton mall, raced the new Edmonton Canada Cup (which was absolutely awesome), went to the after party and hung out with all the racers (wow, what a night life in Edmonton),
did some epic mountain bike rides in Jasper Alberta with Adam, dad and Eric (saw no wild life), took a gazillions photos, had my 21st birthday, reunited with relatives that drove 8hours one way to visit with us, drove to Canmore, stopped at all the waterfalls, canyons and glassiers along the way, stopped at Lake Louise and checked out the rock and gems stores, fell in love with a real pearl necklace... $35,000... HA, did a photo shoot for Bike Magazine, pre road Canmore course, did another photo shoot for Bike Magazine, enjoyed our amazing salmon and sweet potato dinner. And now I’m sitting on a window bench in an beautiful house that Kirk Hamilton (Edmonton C-Cup race organizer) so kindly let all of us stay at (thank you again so much!)
So tomorrow is C-cup #5. My gosh the season is flying by.
And now that I have briefly caught you back up to my adventures over the last week... I really should go make sure the bike is all ready for tomorrow. Although we start at 2pm so maybe I will wait so I have something to do in the morning.
Thank you for reading :)
Stay tuned to find out how the race goes....

this is suposed to be funny... so I hope you think so :) actualy, I just couldnt think of a name for the title

This last few days have been pretty hectic and busy and with trying to get everything done before we fly to Edmonton C-cup tomorrow afternoon, I thought I would incorporate my three hour ride with my dentist appointment this morning at 8:30.
Okay, so I just finished saying how waking up nice and early is kinda fun but this morning was awful.
Before I knew it I was laying in the dentist chair with a needle about to freeze my mouth for a filling. Then when I was done and went back out to meet back up with Adam to finish the last half of our ride, I took a gulp of water only to have it splash all over me. Apparently a frozen mouth wont hold a gulp of water... haha I had to laugh. I caught myself doing it several more times to try and hold my lips shut... ya, no-cant-do.
So its 10:30 and I would usually like to be in bed by now but like all typical packing nights.. leave everything to the last minute haha
Ill let you know how the flight goes in my next update :)
Thanks for following :)

The perfect race morning breakfast

Sometimes getting up really early when you have something to look forward is fun. In my case, home-made waffles! Made with love by Adams mom is something worth waking up for every morning!
With it being Boler O-Cup race morning... I figured I would eat till I was stuffed so I helped myself and did exactly that. Flooded with good ol' Canadian maple syrup and all.
Burnt a tone of energy with the crazy sugar and caffeine rush on the two hour drive to the race listening to music haha but the race still went good. I love Boller’s trails... so much fun! Catherine Vipond and Amanda Sin both had an awesome day. The three of us raced together for 2-3laps.
Another great day for Trek with Adam winning the Elite mens and Jon Barnse winning the Master experts :)

Wheres emily?

I’m in a bloggin mood.. better yet, a bloggin roll HAHA...
This week I have been down at Adams parent’s house enjoying the fruit belt (Font hill, Niagara). Though no fruit is in season just yet, the sun is hot (did some tanning on the deck this morning) and have heard more territorial birds in the last few days than I have in an entire life time.
Yesterday I took advantage of my rest day and tried to catch up on the feminist side... Shopping :) !!! Although I only came home with socks... for Adam. Ha
In the evening we went for an easy spin to the farmers markets up the road. Fruits, veggies and baked goods galore! Chicken Panini for dinner :)

Looking forward to the London O-cup this weekend!

Hardwood Hills C-Cup #3

So, now that I’m pretty much a week late with this report... its hard to go back into specific detail on the race but I will try.
Going back to Saturday... Hardwood is always sponsored by our team TREK TORONTO so this year we had a “Ride with the Team” day. It was a great turn out! Kids everywhere!!! Not to mention 1 in 3 bikes seemed to be a Trek. We were put into groups of 6 to 10 riders. Between Mical and I, we had about 15girls. I learnt that Emily is a popular name haha. Race day was way colder than Saturday. We went from warm hot sun to hail on the start line. The beginning of the race was a little less quick than usual... possibly because everyone was so cold from standing around waiting to start. For the first lap it was teammate Mical Dyck, Jean Ann McKirdy and I all together. I felt great the entire race but because there was no long or steep climbs, the gaps between each rider were much tighter. I’m not sure if I love the “Bone Shaker” so much because it’s so fun and technical or because it’s lined with spectators waiting to watch racers crashes.
On the drive home, a bunch of us stopped at A&W for a nice big Burger and Fries...mmm.... sooo good! And then topped up with a bag of Ju Jubes (complemetry of Adams mom & dad ) :)
