Still waiting for the rain to quit so I can go do my 30min spin... what a week it’s bin.
I really don’t understand this provinces weather. Rain, rain, and more rain. I saw on the news last night that Quebec has set a record for the lowest amount of sun shining hours this month since 1970 something... what kind of record is that?
So Eric and I drove back here and are staying in a town called Sutton. It’s an awesome town. We decided to come a little early this week then in Mt. St. Anne where we only gave ourselves one pre riding day. We figured it would be fine but it wasn’t until we got there and found out the course had a bunch of changes. Good changes... as I’m sure you have all already heard from one source or another about the new open rock decent they had added.
I was determined to ride it but with the rain we had, it was basically a death trap. I stood there and watched people for 45minutes attempt it. Lots made it. Even more didn’t.
Knowing I was standing on my feet the day before the race for that long over one 20second section on the course was making me pretty frustrated and rushed. So I attempted it... and down I go. Nice scratch on my watch face.... :(
It wasn’t until I decided to forget about it and move on, did I realize how much more dangerous it was to walk down these slippery rock faces.
Anyways, the actual race went alright. I’m by all means not disappointed with my result but at the same time, feel a little unsatisfied. I didn’t quite have my punch back that I was supposed to have. And getting second (u-23) in home country only makes me want to start the race over and re do it again. It rained... but didn’t notice. Only took one crash in a slippery corner.
A clearing... jumpin on my bike... back in 30
Below is post race interview... Thank you www.cyclingdirt.org

Nice job Emily!
The rocks do look fun! and the rain too!
It never rains here in Northern California in the summer.
Hey! so do you wear gloves in the sleet and snow?
Stay cool!
haha... thanks for the comment.
Gloves... people always notice the no-gloves haha. It has to be pretty cold before I look for them
